Call for Posters

The Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Macau is holding a poster session during the symposium. Information and requirements of poster submission can be found below.We encourage a variety of poster presentations submitted by all professionals who focus on research in biomedical sciences.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:
Deadline for proposal for poster:  30th April 2016

What to submit and present:
Proposal
Please complete the proposal template provided and submit in WORD format to fhs@umac.mo. Please indicate “Poster Submission – (Your Full name)” in the subject line. You may download the proposal template here.
The proposal should include:

  • First author name and affiliation
  • Contact information of First author
  • A 250-character (max.) poster title
  • A 250-word (max.) abstract / summary

In aim to provide a platform for exchange, all proposals will be accepted to the poster session.

Best Poster Award
A review committee consists of members from the Faculty of Health Sciences will assess all posters during the poster session on 24th May (Tuesday). A maximum of five posters will be given the Best Poster Award.

Poster Preparation
Maximum poster size is 0.8 metre (wide) by 1.18 metre (high). Exhibition boards and amenities for putting up the posters will be provided by the organizer. Presenters have to post their printed posters before the Opening Ceremony on 23rd May. Printing service is not available on site.

The poster should include:

  • Title: project title
  • Name(s) of Author(s): your name, faculty advisor’s name (if applicable), names of collaborators, and department
  • Purpose (or Objectives or Introduction)
  • Methods
  • Results or Findings
  • Discussion
  • Summary/conclusions; and
  • Acknowledgments

The poster must cover the material as cited in the abstract.

  • Place the title of your paper and your paper number prominently on the top of the poster board to allow viewers to identify your paper.
  • Highlight the authors’ names and contact information in case the viewer is interested in more information.
  • Prepare diagrams and charts legibly in a size sufficient to be read at a distance of 2 metres.
  • Paragraph and figure captions should be at least in a 24-point font (0.9 cm height) and headers at least in a 36-point font (1.2 cm height). The presentation shall be clear, orderly, and self-explanatory.
